Chapter Ten
“He’s just exhausted, Outlaw,” Grim spoke softly.
I glanced up at him and could only nod. I nearly tore everyone’s head off when they told me Daisy got away. Mayhem and Deviant had to hold me down and they were our biggest guys. But when Grim told me Liam was okay, that fire inside me went out. Grim and I lugged Liam to a new hover car and brought him back to the clubhouse with an Outlaw member escort. It felt like forever since I’d been home. In my room. Liam was on the bed, breathing normally and looking almost relaxed. When Grim left, I sat on the edge of the bed and buried my head in my hands. I yanked on my overly long strands of brown hair. At this rate, the stress was going to have me going gray in a year. I sighed and closed my eyes.
“Outlaw!”
My head jerked up. Now what the fuck was it?
Reilly came barreling into the room. “Liam?” He jerked to a stop and nearly fell on his face.
“He’s okay.”
Reilly let out a breath and smiled. “When I heard the car was shot at…” He shook his head. “Are you whole?”
“Not a fucking scratch,” I mumbled.
Reilly moved in front of me, placed a hand on each of my cheeks, and leaned down.
I may have had time to react, but I was honestly too tired to move that fast. He pressed his lips to mine. Soft. Plump. Wet. The kiss was quick and sweet and extremely fucking complicated. “Reilly,” I muttered, pulling away.
He lay his forehead against mine. “I was worried you were … he was…”
“The fuck is going on here?” Liam. His voice was stronger than it had been. He watched us with wide eyes, struggling to sit up.
I pulled away from Reilly. “Apparently, our former prospect has it in his head he’s in love with us.” I wasn’t going to lie or sugar coat anything. Liam and I had been through too much for that to stand.
Liam’s frown deepened. “No shit?”
“Yup, fancies himself smitten with us.” I grinned. “Crazy fucker.”
Now Reilly was the one frowning, glancing from Liam to me. “I’m not crazy.”
I rolled my finger around my head.
Liam chuckled. “He loves us. Just like that?”
“A few years he said. It’s why he joined the club.” I felt this urge to laugh but held it in. No need to insult the former prospect that may be a few stars short of a galaxy.
“That so.” Liam sat up by himself, shifting to rest his back on the headboard. “Without ever kissing me or seeing your dick?”
I shrugged.
“You’re making fun of me?” Reilly crossed his arms.
This time I did laugh. “You’re a stupid shithead.” I pulled him onto the bed and hugged him.
Liam chuckled, winced, and went with squeezing his hand. “While I’m in prison, unconscious, you kiss my man?” He lifted a brown eyebrow.
“It wasn’t like that. I love you both.”
“You’re right, Outlaw. Must be space dementia…”
Reilly smacked me on the shoulder and wrestled free of my embrace.
